Our client, a well-established and dynamic Raleigh synagogue, is looking for two organized and hardworking Administrative Assistants to join their team.  This client is a leading progressive voice in the Jewish community and a passionate Jewish voice in the progressive world. 

There are two available positions. One is an Administrative Assistant role supporting the Rabbi and the synagogue’s Director of Lifelong Learning. The other position is an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeping role. These are excellent opportunities for someone who is looking for a family friendly organization that encourages work/life balance. 

General responsibilities for both roles include: 

  • Performing a variety of administrative support tasks and duties to assist in the day-to-day activities of the Temple
  • Answering the phones, meeting/greeting guests, and interacting with congregants
  • Working independently, while being proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality

Duties for the Administrative Assistant position include:

  • Support the Rabbi and Director of Lifelong Learning 
  • Keep a calendar of the facility
  • Perform word-processing, typing, e-mailing, data-entry, filing, faxing, scanning, copying and correspondence

Duties for the Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeping position include:

  • Directly supporting the office staff
  • Assisting with bookkeeping (accounts payable and receivable)
  • Checking inventory and purchasing office supplies


• Bachelor’s degree preferred 

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Teams, Word, Outlook, and Excel 

• Experience with CRM preferred 

• 3-5 years administrative experience preferred 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to set and re-set priorities and multi-task effectively and work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment 

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
