This is a publicly held company planning for its first (and highly anticipated) product launch.  The CEO is involved in every aspect of the business as well as investor relations, public relations, etc.  It is essential that she has an exceedingly competent deputy on whom she can rely.  

Company will pay industry-leading wage to attract and retain that candidate.

  • This CEO travels regularly and needs an EA who can cover her in her absence.  Seek candidate with superb judgment who brings the professionalism and competence needed to garner the respect of the CEO’s broad and high expectations constituency.
  • This EA will regularly interface with investors, board members, media and others.  Superb communication skills (and discretion) will be essential.
  • This is a busy “desk.”  The CEO has a tremendous workload and priorities shift frequently and quickly.  Seek adaptable and can-do quick study who can maintain poise and quality despite disruption and pace.
  • This EA will primarily support the CEO but may be called upon to assist Board members on Board-related tasks.  Experience working with a Board of Directors will be important.  Experience working for a publicly held company is preferred.
  • This position is on-site at the company’s RTP offices.  Schedule flexibility available.  COVID vaccinations required.

Selected Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of administrative support and project execution for the CEO.  May work closely with CFO, COO, and other administrators on investor activities, coordination of meetings, materials, etc.
  • Provides confidential and proactive support of the CEO, anticipating administrative and logistical requirements
  • Drafts and/or edits documents, agendas, correspondence and/or presentations on behalf of the CEO.  Ensures final products are of the highest quality and error-free.
  • Plans, coordinates, and arranges Board of Director, committee and/or other meetings including assisting in drafting agendas, reserving facilities, arranging catering, etc. 
  • Establishes outstanding working relationships with the Board of Directors, committee chairs and other constituents in verbal, written, and electronic correspondence
  • Coordinates travel arrangements and accommodations for CEO and, as needed, Board members.  Communicates information in a thorough, organized and timely fashion
  • Assists with the creation, distribution and storage of board materials, including investigating and implementing a confidential and secure board documents storage platform
  • Assists with special projects and performs other related functions delegated by CEO

Targeted candidate will offer a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of executive assistant experience including substantial experience supporting C-level executives and a Board of Directors.  Background preparing Board meeting materials and presentation is expected and required.  Biotech or scientific bkgd a plus.
