Our client, a Research Triangle Park, NC-based company with expanding global operations, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly knowledgeable and competent financial leader to oversee all US and global financial reporting and accounting matters.

This publicly-held company produces cutting-edge diagnostic products.  It has multiple products on the market, a rich and growing pipeline and near-term launches planned.  It is essential that the right person is in place to oversee all financial matters. 

Compensation, including relo support and equity stake, will be generous.  This position is located in RTP, NC.

Key Things to Note:

  • This is a critical leadership role.  This Global Director will report to the CFO, have regular communications with executives and business partners, oversee a large and growing team, and bring accounting expertise to key business discussions.  We seek a highly skilled technical accountant (CPA expected), with exceptional business and operations savvy.
  • This is a global company with operations in Europe, Asia and beyond. We seek a candidate with a strong global mindset
  • Role will involve managing all Accounting and Financial Reporting responsibilities, in compliance with US GAAP.   Some countries/municipalities will have additional reporting requirements.  Knowledge of IFRS (international Financial Reporting Standards) would be valuable. SEC/SOX expertise required.
  • These are high dollar diagnostic products that include electronic and consumable components.  Strong cost accounting and inventory valuation bkgd will be essential.
  • This Director will manage a team of ~20 (including 4+ direct reports) in 6 countries.  We seek a committed developer of people, with the keen ability to create unity despite disparate locations and cultures.
  • This is an emerging company in which processes, procedures, and protocols are being modified and enhanced to meet the needs of the future. Seek process improvement-oriented candidate who will pursue Best Practice operations while working through the ambiguity and dynamics that are inherent to evolving settings.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Management and development of global Accounting and Finance teams including Regional Controllers, Accounting Managers and Accounting Staff
  • Partnering with Senior Leadership on strategic, business development and operational initiatives
  • Oversight of all Accounting Operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Payroll, Bank and Account Reconciliations, General Ledger, Sales & Use Tax, etc.
  • Oversight of Cost Accounting operations, including Inventory Valuation
  • Consolidated Financial Reporting including monthly-, quarterly- and year-end close
  • SEC Reporting including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and associated financial statements and notes
  • Global Reporting requirements, including ensuring compliance with IFRS standards
  • SOX compliance including development and implementation of smart and compliant internal control policies
  • Technical Accounting including research on complex accounting issues and new pronouncements
  • Financial Analysis and Budgeting
  • External Audit coordination and liaising

Targeted candidate will offer a CPA and 15 years of increasingly responsible roles in finance and accounting.  Strong SEC knowledge and technical accounting core are assumed and required.  Big 4 bkgd and NPI (new product introduction) experience preferred.
