Our client, a defense technology company developing state-of-the-art defense and industrial cybersecurity technologies, is actively recruiting a highly-skilled, knowledgeable, and innovative Lead Robotics Engineer with experience in drone and automated vehicles to assume a leadership role in translating advanced technical concepts into reality.

This Engineer will have a real, direct impact on the company's success and contribute to the development of advanced technology in IoT, industrial automation, robotics, and aerospace. The role will lead the development of a critical project utilizing technologies and tools to secure unmanned systems.  

Key things to note:

  • This Engineer will be the subject matter expert on direct robotics, autonomous vehicle, or UAV/drone software development. Advanced knowledge of control systems, autonomous systems, and embedded software is essential.
  • This is a hands-on role that involves the improvement of legacy and new product development. 
  • This highly interactive role involves regular partnerships with internal departments, leadership, subcontractors, clients, etc. Seek a highly skilled Engineer who works exceptionally well in a collaborative, brainstorming-driven, empowered, and respectful setting
  • U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance due to contractual requirements.
  • This position is available for a hybrid opportunity in Raleigh, NC, Baltimore, MD, or Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance to Raleigh, NC, is available.

Target candidate will bring:

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience leading small teams consisting of multi-disciplinary engineers 
  • Direct robotics, autonomous vehicle, or UAV/drone software development experience
  • Knowledge of control systems, autonomous systems, and embedded software
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Hands-on experience with Robotics Operating System (ROS), MATLAB/Simulink, or similar autonomous system development tools
