Our client, an RTP pharmaceutical firm with several marketed products and a rich and expanding pipeline, has an immediate need for a smart and can-do candidate to join its Supply Chain and Operations teams.

Role will involve working with R&D and Production on all procurement needs.  It is an important role for the team and compensation will be generous.

Key Things to Note:

  • This position will begin as a 6-month contract with potential for extension and/or conversion to perm. 
  • The role is hybrid with Tue/Wed expected to be on-site and remote available on other days.
  • The company uses SAP by Design and similar ERP experience will be important.
  • The company, which is experiencing significant growth, has multiple products in development.  Purchases include lab supplies & equipment, manufacturing supplies & equipment, production and facility services, etc.  Familiarity with lab- and research-based procurement needs would be helpful.
  • This is a highly interactive role.  This Procurement Specialist will regularly work with multiple departments (R&D, Finance, Manufacturing, etc.) to understand their needs and troubleshoot issues/exceptions.  Seek candidate who enjoys a collaborative role.

Selected Duties:

  • Order lab and other supplies based on requests from R&D and/or Manufacturing team
  • Track completion of purchase from order to receipt to invoice; research exceptions/discrepancies as needed
  • Create Purchase Orders in SAP for new financial contracts; follow-through on approval process
  • Create Goods Service Receipt of invoices in SAP; track receipt & approval of invoices
  • Ensure proper coding of invoices in ERP system
  • Act as liaison to third party vendors for any invoice dispute
  • Address questions from Accounts Payable group
  • Assist with monthly accrual receipts in SAP
  • Monitor expiring contracts, submit for renewal, obtain approvals as needed
  • Ensure stockroom is maintained and sufficient quantities of supplies are available at all times

Targeted candidate will offer a related degree and 1+ years of procurement experience (2+ years preferred).  Some exposure to Life Science or related industry is strongly preferred.
