Our client, a highly-regarded national medical association based in the RTP area, is actively recruiting for a sharp, capable and versatile candidate to assume a management role on its Research and Quality team

This association provides education, advocacy, research, and other support services to its members (physicians, researchers, other medical practitioners, etc.).  In that vein, they have developed a Registry that is accessible to all members to share patient level data.  The Registry is an invaluable resource to optimize patient outcomes.  This Registry Manager will drive all efforts related to this Registry as well as lead other research/quality initiatives.  

Key Things to Note:

  • This is a critical, high impact role and organization will offer rich compensation package to attract and retain the right candidate.
  • The registry provides one place where the medical and research communities can share, integrate and analyze historical, patient-level data with the goal of assessing specific quality metrics and advancing future research. It is complex, regulated work.  Some knowledge of medical, research and/or healthcare data/images will be valuable. Experience with a registry or data sharing platform is preferred.
  • This is a broad-based role responsible for oversight of platform operations, data analysis and reporting, member relations and training, process improvement and serving as both champion and SME for the platform.  It requires a highly versatile candidate who brings honed data analytics, project leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • This Manager will supervise a staff of two research professionals.
  • Some travel will be required to US-based meetings, conferences, and exhibits.
  • This position can be remote or on-site at the organization’s Research Triangle Park, NC offices. Client is targeted those in close proximity to RTP in order to facilitate regular on-site meetings.

Selected Duties:

Registry Oversight:

  • Oversee data element development and ongoing functionality of the Registry, identifying subsequent phases of new data development to facilitate Registry growth.
  • Maintain relationships and collaborate with partners to ensure alignment in processes and systems across the platform’s modules.
  • Create and manage quality improvement initiatives for registry, including providing timely and regular reports of ROI for enrolled institutions and members.
  • Develop content and coordinate meetings of internal and external stakeholders to assure the registry maintains growth and hits appropriate annual and strategic targets.

Direct Research Activities:

  • Oversee research grants program, including RFA development, crafting of proposal solicitations, development of peer review and selection, funding utilization, and track outcomes from funded projects.  Supervise the administration of the grant and awards programs to assure targets and protocols are met.
  • Analyze data from various sources to monitor health care quality and resource use. Identify ways to use this information to foster practice improvements.
  • Prepare reports to Board of Directors related to Research and Registry-related activities.

Targeted candidate will offer a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and 5+ years of experience working with scientific, data, or research projects/protocols ideally in a scientific/medical setting.  Other priorities include:

  • Superb project management skills, including ability to simultaneously juggle numerous projects.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills; experience with data-sharing platform preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills, experience managing a small team of professionals.
  • Strong process improvement mentality.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with a highly sophisticated, technical clientele.
