Our client, a national non-profit medical association based in the RTP area, is seeking a highly capable, customer-focused professional to join its dynamic team. This organization offers a team-oriented environment working alongside a staff dedicated to its mission of advancing medical technologies that improve lives. The Membership Specialist is an essential role that provides operational and administrative support to its members, business contacts and internal team.     

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile self-starter to gain valuable experience doing meaningful work with a well-established, expanding professional association. We need an organized, efficient, detail-oriented individual who is flexible and eager to assist their Membership Department with a wide range of responsibilities including member relations, special project organization, and meeting coordination.

The ideal candidate will combine strong administrative and customer service skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A high energy point-person with a solutions-oriented work style and a strong desire to contribute to the team is essential. Additionally, 1-3 years of relevant administrative experience in a professional business setting is required. Background working in a non-profit medical environment or membership-based association is preferred.

Key Responsibilities to Note:

  • First point of contact for member inquiries, requests, and issues.  Service orientation and the ability to interact with a sophisticated clientele is crucial.
  • Go-to resource for membership-related administrative matters (e.g. database upkeep, assembling new member packets/promotional items, meeting logistics, etc.).  
  • Primary staff liaison to all forums. Will assist volunteer leaders with meeting preparation, attend all group meetings, and provide meeting notes post event. 
  • Point-person for handling travel arrangements, calendaring, document production, and meeting planning. A candidate accustomed to similar administrative duties is ideal.

Qualifications needed:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Positive, disciplined demeanor and professional image.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • MS Office and database software proficiency.
  • Proven track record of 1-3 years administrative and/or customer support experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

This is a hybrid role requiring 1-2 days onsite with an 8:30am-4:30pm schedule. Position is Direct Hire paying up to $22/hour plus comprehensive benefits and generous PTO allotment.
