Jr Consultant, Pharma Manufacturing and Materials Planning – Will Train

Our client, a highly successful niche RTP area consulting firm that services the pharmaceutical industry, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly sharp candidate to join its Client Services team as an Associate Consultant.

This firm works with many of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and leads Operational Excellence initiatives such as capital improvements, equipment qualification projects, process improvement rollouts, etc.

Consultants are embedded in client companies and project manage these initiatives.  They are assigned to multiple engagements and have extensive client-facing responsibilities. 

Seek candidates who are strong project managers, have excellent data/reporting skills, are operationally savvy, and enjoy client-facing roles.  Polished communication skills will be important.

Things to Know About This Associate Consultant (AC) Role:

• The initial engagement will involve working with an RTP, NC area client that is building out a $2 billion pharma manufacturing facility. The firm is leading numerous operational initiatives including construction walkdowns, equipment commissioning and validation, and supply chain planning. 
• This Associate Consultant will work with the Equipment CQV Testing team.
  • The CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, Validation) team has testing protocols in place to ensure that facility, equipment and utilities are rigorously and robustly commissioned, qualified and validated to their intended use.
  • Given the size and complexity of this facility, there are 1000s of test protocols. This is an enormous undertaking that requires extensive planning, materials and manpower.

This AC will be responsible for managing the materials planning elements of this effort. Training will be provided.

• Role will involve working with leadership, engineers, operators and procurement to build a project plan that aligns material purchases with the CQV testing needs.
  • The AC will meet with the Engineers and Operators to define their needs
  • The project plan will include order and replenishment dates, material specifications, suppliers, etc. that will enable operational/testing continuity. 
  • The AC will:
    • continually track CQV testing progress to ensure material planning efforts are current and that material supplies satisfy CQV testing requirements
    • coordinate with Procurement to ensure smooth processes and supply of materials
    • track shipments and ensure delivery; troubleshoot issues
    • regularly communicate with operators regarding status and status changes
    • update project plans (and key stakeholders) as needs change
    • maintain timely, accurate and visible records of progress
• Once acclimated, this AC will also be involved in other Operational Excellence initiatives.  We seek candidates who enjoy juggling multiple projects and are thirsty for new learning experiences. 
• The company uses Excel and MS Project to track and report on many aspects of activity.  Strong Data Management and Visualization skills will be important. 
• This position is located in Holly Springs, NC. 

Targeted candidate will offer a related BA/BS degree and 1+ years in Manufacturing and/or Operations in a related/life science industry. Experience in a plant and/or with supply chain operations would be desirable.
