Business Operations Manager, Ed Tech Company – High Growth

Our client, a highly successful company that provides education strategies that significantly improve the learning for K – 12 students, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly sharp candidate to oversee Business Operations.

This company provides cutting edge professional development tools to schools throughout the world.  They train teachers to utilize its proprietary teaching solutions that correlate to specific cognitive processes for students. Independent data demonstrates that schools that implement this technology achieve reading and math scores that are 2+ times those of other schools.

Now the company is scaling.

It is transitioning from a family-owned, NC-based business to a global, Ed Tech company.  This Business Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations and will play a key role in its growth.  We seek a go-getter with exceptionally strong operations and project management skills. 

Key Things to Note:

• The position will report to the CEO, who is out-of-state.  This Business Operations Manager will act as his deputy and ensure that all strategies are executed in accordance with business plans.
• Near-term duties will be relatively tactical (inventory control, communicationslead, cash flow analysis, vendor coordination, insurance policies, HR support, contracts management, etc.), with the intention of transitioning to a strategic leadership role once acclimated. 
  • We seek a high potential candidate who will be instrumental in driving the scale up of the company.
  • Strong process improvement skills and operational savvy will be important.
• The company is in the process of shifting to a fully digital platform.  This BOM will have the opportunity to be on the ground floor of this effort.  Some experience with digital offerings is desirable.  Tech inclination is critical.

• This position is based in Cary, NC.  While some ability to work remotely is available, seek candidate who prefers being on-site and collaborating with the broader team.

Targeted candidates will offer a related degree and 5+ years of business management experience including significant experience overseeing operations.  Strong preference for candidates with experience in tech businesses.  Some background in education is also a plus.
