Our client, a highly successful company that manufacturers custom high speed packaging equipment, is expanding its team.   It is actively recruiting for experienced field technicians, who have worked on similar equipment in the field, but are looking to come in house.  They will pay excellent wage to attract and retain these candidates.

The manufactures equipment that utilizes continuous motion technology to create packaging solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, industrial goods, etc. These are custom solutions utilizing the company’s proprietary technology and fit to meet each customer’s packaging needs. 

These are cutting-edge products, and this Technician will be responsible for testing and assembling complex mechanical units.  This is an immediate need, and there are multiple positions available.

Other Things to Note:

  • This is a Direct Hire position.
  • Schedule is Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4 pm; Paid overtime is available for Fridays.
  • The position is on-site at the company’s Raleigh area facility.
  • This technician will work on assembly, testing and, as needed,customer communications. Seek candidate who brings strong and diverse technical skills as well as excellent communications skills.
    • The equipment is large, complex and made of numerous sub-assemblies:
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints/specifications, electrical schematics, manufacturing manuals, and verbal/written instructions is necessary.  
  • A high degree of problem-solving and mechanical knowledge is required.
  • The company uses BaseCamp to communicate project milestones, concerns. Familiarity with similar systems is a plus.
  • Pay will be $35-38+/hour (depending on experience).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Position, erect, align, level; position sub-assemblies, units, and separate components and integrate their operations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical controls utilizing Multimeter, Amp meter, and/or oscilloscope.
  • Execute onsite Factory Acceptance Testing with multiple customers and system integrators.
  • Transport specified parts from various plant locations manually or by using various mechanical lifting aids e.g. forklift trucks, etc.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring and gauging instruments such as scales, calipers, micrometers, etc., to inspect and verify conformance of parts to specifications/tolerances.
  • Utilize BaseCamp to communicate project milestones, opportunities, and concerns.

Targeted candidate will offer 3+ years of experience assembling complex equipment (electronics, mechanical sub-assemblies, or other). Packaging/labeling bkgd a plus.

Other priorities include:

  • Ability to read technical drawings, mechanical diagrams, electrical schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring and gauging instruments such as scales, calipers, micrometers, etc.,
  • Experience with electrical controls utilizing Multimeter, Amp meter, and/or oscilloscope.
  • Machine shop experience preferred
  • Strong juggling skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
