Our client, a thriving chemical manufacturing company, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly competent and committed Payroll Specialist to join its team.

The company's headquarters are in Raleigh, and it has multiple locations worldwide. Its products and services deliver next-generation advanced materials. To do this, the company employs nearly 500 people across the US. It is essential that all employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policy and government regulations.

Key Things to Know:

  • Company runs a biweekly payroll encompassing salaried, hourly, and contractor employees in various states. We seek a candidate accustomed to a wide range of compensation plans. Multi-state expertise is assumed and required.
  • The company offers rich and diverse benefit programs. Seek a candidate skilled in managing Payroll (with complexities for insurance plans, 401-k plans, leaves, garnishments, etc.) and administering benefit programs.
  • This Payroll Specialist will interface with employees, contractors, vendors, etc., providing support on a regular basis. We seek a great communicator and natural relationship-builder.
  • The company uses ADP for all payroll and benefits processing together with E-Time, advanced Excel, and SAP HRIS software. Right candidate will be tech-savvy and offer experience with all systems.
  • This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the Raleigh office and 2 days from home.

Selected Duties:

  • Oversee and monitor delivery of legally compliant payroll and benefit programs for US
  • Manage agreements with administrators and vendors, monitor their process and service delivery
  • Directly complete work for the processing of payroll and employee benefits
  • Maintain and process data in systems according to established payroll processes and procedures; monitor records for pay irregularities
  • Manage the relationship with the payroll vendor to ensure updates are made to the payroll database including the annual payroll schedule and benefits platforms
  • Administer the benefit program systems and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all eligibility information
  • Facilitate internal cost reallocation relating to payroll and benefit expenses
  • Analyze any changes to federal, state, and country laws regarding benefits, compensation, and payroll
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements
  • Work with vendors to ensure changes are implemented with regard to wage and tax law and benefit plan rule compliance
  • Provide requested information related to accounting reconciliations and provide general ledger support.
  • Generate accounting reports according to established criteria and schedules and on ad-hoc basis

Targeted candidate will offer a related degree and 4+ years of Payroll experience including payroll tax reporting and governmental complianceMulti-state expertise will be essential. Knowledge of employee benefit programs is preferred.
